Combining a converted 8-ton Sd.Kfz 7 prime mover with a 3.7cm Flak 36, over 1,000 Sd.Kfz 7/2 self-propelled anti-aircraft guns were produced between 1942 and 1945. From 1943 these vehicles received an armoured driver cab as well as 8mm armour for the radiator and engine compartments.
Issued to Luftwaffe and Wehrmacht Flak units, the AA gun could be used to fire at ground units in addition to tackling enemy aircraft.
