Rubicon Models 1:56 (28mm): Viet Cong

Beginning in 1960s, vast quantities of obsolete and redundant SKS Rifles were donated by Soviet Union and the People's Republic of China to left-wing guerrilla movements. SKS rifles served as one of the primary arms of the Viet Cong during the Vietnam War.

Chinese support for Democratic Republic of Vietnam before the mid-1960s meant that Type-56 Assault Rifles were frequently encountered by the American Soldiers in the hands of either Viet Cong guerillas or PAVN soldiers during the Vietnam War. These rifles were discovered far more often than the original Russianmade AK-47 assault rifles.

Many Viet Cong operatives often disguised as farmers hiding within the rice farming villages, making it difficult for American soldiers to identify. Female operatives did participate in ambushes and often handled a lot of the back-end operations.
