Great Escape Games: Seven Days to the River Rhine

“We are just receiving reports from the Ministry of Defence that Warsaw Pact forces have now crossed the West German border and are advancing across a broad front. Sources in Brussels have confirmed that NATO forces are now heavily engaged and there are eyewitness accounts of fighting taking place to the East of Hamburg. We have received reports of at least two very large explosions near the city of Fulda. It is not yet confirmed if these are the result of conventional weapons or the detonation of nuclear devices. The Prime Minister is expected to address the nation within the next 30 minutes.”

Dahlborg's Battles välkomnar Great Escape Games med sitt regelsystem för kalla kriget.

Reglerna är rejält sofistikerade i all sin enkelhet. Speciellt lämpade för storslag med många spelare, samtliga bör vara alerta då de konstant ställs inför svåra taktiska beslut. Genom att spendera resurser går det att avbryta motståndaren för att försöka reagera på en kommande handling, till exempel köra i skydd för att undkomma skytte.

Regelsystemet Seven Days to the River Rhine är oberoende av skala. Dock framgår det i boken att de föredrar 15mm och det är skalan som är återkommande i text och bild. 28mm nämns som större skala och reglernas ursprung kommer från Iron Cross som de själva spelar i 28mm.

Oavsett skala kommer det bli spännande och dramatiska strider på spelbordet.
